Week Five - They’re Here, Bear There!

Our “kids” arrived on Saturday to spend a week with us in Glacier National Park (background is not fake or filtered). We’re camping at Apgar located on Lake McDonald. But first, we finished our second week building a Habitat House.

  Laid vinyl plank flooring

Our first hike - Avalanche Lake - began with a beautiful gorge.

Our picnic lunch view on the lake plus we caught a glimpse of a black bear on the other side.

Along the “Going to the Sun” Road

This big horn sheep was at the visitor’s center…so was a grizzly bear.

Unfortunately, I can’t bear watch and video at the same time so can you find the bear?

Second day - Many Glacier Lake

Hiked to Grinell Lake (unfiltered)

Refreshing for hot feet - some go all in (upper right)

 Happy about finding thimble berries

I’m getting a head start on week six since it will be a full one in Glacier. So far this is what I love about camping (more accurately, glamping), if you care to know…

1. Everything we need is in 200 square feet
2. I can vacuum in under a minute
3. Jeff does all the dishes
4. We cook together, shop together, do laundry together - lots of togetherness and we’re still together!
5. Campfires
6. Sleeping with windows open and smelling campfires
7. Feeling close to God in His creation
8. Huge mountains, big blue lakes and little butterflies all in the same view
9. Our kids sleeping in the 200 square foot camper with us
10. Still needing and depending on God to meet unexpected challenges
