Week Eleven - Healing Springs



This is a special place for us - Pagosa Springs CO. Our family has spent many Christmas holidays here skiing at nearby Wolf Creek. We have lots of memories of friends and extended family joining us here. 
  
It’s beautiful in the fall. 





We finished our second week of working on three Habitat for Humanity houses. Jeff and I make a good flooring team. He “rips and cuts” and I lay it in place like a puzzle. 

These are our fellow Care-A-Vanners and new friends. 

Pagosa boasts of having the world’s deepest hot springs. People come to soak in the “healing” mineral pools along the river. Ironically, my arrival in Pagosa began with a trip to the urgent care clinic - my fifth trip to urgent care in 10 weeks  (allergic reaction, swollen feet, foot injury and lastly Covid). 
It seems like enemy attack. God says Sabbath and satan says opposition. I keep repeating a verse that came up in my reading from the onset - The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet (Romans 16:20). I’m going to be real here. I was hoping Sabbath meant healing from chronic pain issues, but I’ve been given more. I’m also studying Daniel this week in BSF. He didn’t blame God or complain about his  circumstances. He responded faithfully and God revealed His greatness. One of our lesson questions asked what attribute of God do you see at work in your relationship with Him. For me it is God of peace. He is teaching me to rest in His peace because He is in control of all circumstances. I love the God of peace. He wants us to live in peace that transcends circumstances. I want to respond with faithfulness because He is so good to remind us of His.

Week One - Goodbye Indiana

 We have officially left Indiana, but our Indiana adventure will never leave us. I never want to forget all God taught us and did for us in Indiana. The greatest blessing was the people He brought into our lives. He taught me that home is where He is. He showed me how He could provide everything that I needed as I left everything to go where He said to go. So, we didn’t leave Indiana without His clear call. Leviticus 25 is where we heard Him direct us to a Sabbath year and a return to our homeland Arkansas. Week Three - Flowers and Goats

 This week in pictures… I’ve been looking forward to this one stop for a long time. The UP Flower Farm - another Harvest Host that allows RVs to park overnight at their business. It was a young family of six with a flower garden in the front yard. They allow people to pick a bouquet from their garden for $25. They spread a lot of joy to others and put in a good word for Jesus in the process.  Next stop Apostle Islands National Lakeshore - 22 islands in Lake Superior. We toured to one called Raspberry Island and toured a lighthouse.  Next heading west in the UP was Voyagers National Lakeshore. We heard the majestic sound of loons calling to each other, but missed getting it on video. I did capture two pelicans and an interesting creature at the end of the video.  Overnight stay at an air museum in Minot North Dakota.  We made it to the goat farm in Montana - met the farmer and his wife. Week Two - Up in the UP

 We headed north for several stops in Michigan: Muskegon State Park, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, an overnight stop at a winery (yes, we spent the night in a vineyard), then a quick stop in Mackinaw City to see a friend camping there before crossing the Mackinac bridge into the Upper Peninsula (UP), first stop Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Lake Superior (the largest fresh water lake in the world)! Some highlights… We camped right on the sand dunes of Lake Michigan at Muskegon State Park.  We put our kayaks on the Platte River in Sleeping Bear Dunes and paddled down where it emptied into Lake Michigan.  Harvest Hosts are a network of businesses that allow RV travelers to park at their business overnight for free. This was a winery in Charlevoix MI.  At Pictured Rocks we couldn’t put our kayaks on the rough waters of Lake Superior but we found beautiful Beaver Lake.  From the campground a view of Lake Superior at sunset.
